The China Bakery Exhibition (CBE) is the biggest event of the bakery industry in South China. The exhibition took place from the 21st to the 23rd of May 2009 in Guangzhou.

The exhibition program comprised among others

• machinery and equipment for the baking industry,
• packaging machinery,
• raw materials,
• as well as fillings and packagings for moon cakes (traditional Chinese baked products which are presented during the annual moon festival in autumn).

HAAS was represented by its subsidiary Haas Food Machinery (HFM) Shanghai with an information booth. The HFM team received a large number of inquiries during the three exhibition days. More than half of them came from the baking industry. Focuses of interest were noticed in the fields of waffles and ice cream cones. But also cake products and swiss rolls were main topics.

Although the exhibition organizers covered the whole range of the bakery industry, the CBE was nevertheless marked  by the topic “moon cake” as the Guangzhou region (South China) is a center of moon cake production.

Taking part in this exhibition as one of the few foreign machine manufacturer, offered HAAS an opportunity to establish new contacts with Chinese end product manufacturers and to deepen existing relations.
