Promising successes in biscuit business – Part I
back
Since the end of 2008 and also this year, Haas has seen growing demand for biscuit machinery. This trend was also promoted by several new developments in the biscuit business division which acted successfully upon market needs.

Another factor is the general development of global biscuit production which increased by 4 percent from 2007 to 2008 and reached a value of about 12.5 million tons in 2008.

Haas has developed and manufactured biscuit plants since the acquisition of the German company Hecrona Maschinen Industrie GmbH in 1986. The integration of this company complemented the Haas machine program. Many years of experience in the fields of design and engineering and the corresponding know-how of the staff led to a large range of biscuit machinery that enables the production of

  • crackers,
  • cocktail and lye products,
  • hard dough biscuits,
  • short dough biscuits – e. g. molded, wire-cut and deposited biscuits
  • and sponge cake products.

Haas has prevailed over its competitors at current projects in North and Central America as well as at inquiries from European regions.

Also in Tunisia/North Africa Haas recently concluded a deal for a molded biscuit line. On the African market, the more popular biscuit products are predominant compared to wafer products. A typical product on that market is the sandwich biscuit. Also for this type of product Haas offers customized solutions.
